So last week I gave you 3 reasons you shouldn’t go to college. Today I’m giving you 3 reasons to go to college.
There are so many reasons why you should go to college and you may be on the fence about whether or not you should even go.
College definitely has it’s benefits and I want you to be able to reap those benefits.
Figuring out whether or not you want to go to college can be a difficult decision. But hopefully by the end of this post you’ll be able to determine whether or not college is the way to go.
So let’s get to it…
1. Enhance Your Knowledge
If you want to pursue a career then you’re going to need some knowledge and college is where your knowledge is at.
You can’t expect to be a doctor without having a degree in it, right? I don’t think hospitals work that way.
But let’s just say you didn’t necessarily want a degree in anything and maybe just a certificate. You could do that too.
Or maybe you just want to learn more about a particular subject – college is where it’s at.
I didn’t want a degree in Spanish, but I did want to learn the language, so I took courses at my local community college.
Knowledge is power and college is definitely the place to be if you want that power.
2. Make More Money
You’ll have a better shot at getting better pay of you were a college graduate rather than if you only had a high school degree or GED.
Believe it or not, over a life-time of earnings, college graduates can earn on average more than a million dollars than their high school counterparts.
That’s a pretty hefty chunk of change don’t you think? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like the idea of making more money and college is the place to start in order to get it.
3. Become More Qualified
You know, it’s a jungle out there and you need to be able to prove that you’re head of that jungle.
Many jobs require training, special skills and knowledge that only a college program can provide. No even though every job doesn’t require a college degree, many employers do look for the most qualified.
Having a college degree definitely puts you in a better position because you would have acquired those skills and that knowledge and training.
A college degree proves that you have what it takes to get the job done because you’ve invested in your education beyond high school – and that’s what employers like to see.
Are You Going to College?
Obviously there are way more reasons why you should go to college but I just wanted to list a few. College can be a great experience and it can be beneficial in life.
But now it’s up to you to decide what path you want to lead. Hopefully by reading this post you have an idea of what you want to do.
