I’m Pregnant and Homeless, What Do I Do?

It’s always an unfortunate circumstance when you’re pregnant and scared and you have no support. Being single and pregnant is tough alone, but when you’re pregnant and homeless it’s even tougher.

Maybe you were trying your best to figure out how to tell your parents you are pregnant, you did, they didn’t approve and shut you out.

At this point it’s important that you stay strong for you and your baby. It’s not the end of the world. You’re not the first to be in this position and you certainly won’t be the last.

A positive mindset is everything. If you start to break down mentally, you will fall apart. You have to keep thinking to yourself that you are a strong individual and that you will get through this obstacle.

I’m a strong believer of God and he never puts any more on you that you can’t handle. So trust me, you can get through this.

Locate Any Family That You Can

You’re first step is to locate any family that you can. If you’re parents aren’t there for you then move on to another relative. Maybe you have an aunt, uncle, grandparents or cousin that you can contact.

There’s nothing like the support of family if they’re around. Do your best to let them know the situation you’re in and ask if they will take you in for a little while; at least until you’re back on your feet.

Find a Shelter in Your Area

There are shelters available for pregnant women just about everywhere. They will provide room and board for you as well as assist you with obtaining a job and getting medical assistance for you and your child.

I have listed a couple resources that I have reviewed below…

This site provides you with all of the resources you need in order to care for yourself and your baby. They are anti abortion and are all about helping you and your baby make it.

Lifecall.org gives you a list of shelters in your area in which you can call and acquire help. They have helped over 20,000 women and over 200 women call their national hotline every month seeking their help. I don’t have the slightest doubt that they can help you.

Talk about resources and information, this site has tons of it. Anything you want to know about pregnancy, adoption, shelters and more, this site has it.

Unplannedpregnancy.org walks you through your situation and helps you every step of the way. They understand your pain and where you are right now. They are there to help, so let them.

Being pregnant and homeless is definitely an obstacle that you can overcome. What won’t kill you will only make you stronger and you better believe that this journey will do just that.

Take the resources that are out there and available to you and put them to good use. They are there for you to use, so please do so.
